# Free invoice in the Netherlands. No account.

> Create a free invoice in the Netherlands and download the PDF. Chamber of Commerce, Dutch VAT ID, consecutive number. The PDF opens in English — same generator as the Invoice hub.

Create a free invoice in the Netherlands, see the sheet, download the PDF — with the mentions a Dutch invoice needs. The PDF opens in English. Next to this text sits a filled example; overwrite it with your own details. It is the same generator as the [Invoice hub](/en/services/#invoicing), without the rest around it. Still unpaid? [Payment reminder (Dutch tool)](/tools/betalingsherinnering-maken/).

## Create a free invoice: pick your situation

Sample details. Click a field to replace them with your own.

Who the invoice is from

Who it is to

Government and e-invoice address

These two do not appear on the PDF. They belong to addressing an e-invoice, and that happens in the Invoice hub — that needs an administration. They are here so you already have them to hand.

The VAT treatment sets the rate and the legal note under the sheet. One choice — no loose percentage that can drift.

Building the sheet… The preview cannot run here. Downloading still works — the sheet itself is fine.

The mentions

## Create a free invoice: what belongs on a VAT invoice in the Netherlands.

Dutch law lists the data that must appear. There is no official invoice template in the Netherlands. Fill in the form and the same generator writes those mentions on the sheet — Chamber of Commerce, Dutch VAT ID, consecutive number.

- Your own name and address

The name you trade under, and the address. For a sole trader that may be your trade name.
- Your Chamber of Commerce number

If you are registered. If you are not, the field stays empty and no number appears.
- Your Dutch VAT identification number

If you are VAT-registered. That is the number that starts with NL, not your omzetbelastingnummer.
- An invoice number

Consecutive, without gaps. The tool starts at 0001 of this year; you count on from there.
- The invoice date

The date you issue the invoice. The due date follows from your payment term.
- Your customer’s name and address

And for reverse-charge VAT also their VAT identification number — otherwise the sheet cannot leave.
- What you supplied

A description, the quantity and the price each. For goods, also the date of supply.
- The VAT amount and the rate

Separately per rate. If there is no VAT, the reason belongs on the sheet — the PDF writes that note itself.
- The amount excluding VAT and the total

Subtotal, VAT and amount due. The generator does the sums; you do not have to.
- Your IBAN

Not a legal requirement, but without an account number nobody can pay you.

Examples

## A Dutch invoice in English for each situation.

Not screenshots of someone else’s bill. Pick a situation and the sheet jumps to it — including the legal note that belongs with reverse charge, export or the small business scheme. Create a Dutch invoice the same way you will later in the hub.

- Reverse charge VAT
- English invoice
- Credit note
- Proforma
- Hours
- Export outside the EU

Special cases

## Create invoice Netherlands: no KvK, a private customer, or the KOR.

### No Chamber of Commerce

If you are not registered, the PDF simply leaves the Chamber of Commerce field empty — no invented number. Whether you may invoice without a registration depends on what you do and how often. Selling something once is not the same as running a business.

### To a private customer

A private customer has no VAT ID and no Chamber of Commerce number, so those fields stay empty. You still charge VAT: a private customer pays the rate that belongs to your service and cannot reclaim it.

### Small business scheme (KOR)

Under the Dutch small business scheme you do not charge VAT. The lines go to 0% and the exemption appears under the sheet. If you go above € 20,000 you leave the scheme during the year and have to start charging VAT.

After this

## The PDF is the start, not the work.

Creating the invoice takes a minute. Sending it, following up and booking it is where the time goes. That part sits in the Invoice hub, and the hub sits in the books.

- Send

By email, with the PDF attached and your own text above it.
- Remind

Politely, with the amount and IBAN, when you choose.
- Get paid

iDEAL via Mollie, a bunq.me link or Tikkie Zakelijk.
- Open, late, paid

The status follows your bank account, so you do not have to ask.

Questions

## What people ask about a free invoice in the Netherlands.

Do I need an account to download an invoice?

No. You fill in the form, you see the sheet at once and you download the PDF. There is no login screen and we do not ask for your email address. You only need an account if you want to store, send and follow up the invoice in the Invoice hub.

Can I create a Dutch invoice in English?

Yes. This page opens the PDF in English: INVOICE as the title, English column headings and English VAT notes. Dutch, German and French are one click away. Chamber of Commerce and Dutch VAT ID stay on the sheet — those are required mentions, not a translation.

Is this an official invoice template for the Netherlands?

No. The Belastingdienst does not publish a template. The law lists which data must appear on a VAT invoice in the Netherlands, and this sheet puts those mentions on. For reverse charge, export or an exemption, the generator also writes the matching legal note.

May I send an invoice without a Chamber of Commerce number?

The Chamber of Commerce number belongs on your invoice if you are registered. If you are not, leave the field empty — the PDF will not invent a number. Whether you may invoice without a registration depends on what you do and how often.

How does the small business scheme appear on the invoice?

Under the KOR you do not charge VAT. Choose the KOR VAT treatment: the lines go to 0% and the PDF puts the exemption under the sheet. You then show no VAT amount and you do not file a VAT return.

Where does my PDF go?

Nowhere. The PDF is built in your own browser and never reaches our servers. Your logo stays local too. Only your own details — name, address, Chamber of Commerce, logo — we keep in your browser, so you do not have to type them again next time.
